The CRO will be pivotal in securing financial support,cultivating donor relationships, and strategizing comprehensivefundraising initiatives to sustain and expand Share Our Strength'svital programs and impact. Additionally, the CRO will work with theexecutive leadership team to build Share Our Strength's reputationand increase awareness of their mission as a nonprofit leader.

Location:
Hybrid – 2 days a week in the Washington D.C. Office

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising StrategyDevelopment: Collaborate with the executive team tocreate and implement a robust and innovative fundraising strategythat aligns with Share Our Strength's mission and long-termobjectives. Devise comprehensive plans to identify new fundingopportunities, expand donor engagement, and diversify revenuestreams.
  • Major Gift Solicitation: Lead major giftinitiatives, personally engaging in directly soliciting
    major donors. Cultivate strong relationships with individualphilanthropists, corporations,
    foundations, and other potential benefactors.
  • Donor Cultivation andStewardship: Nurture and maintain relationships withcurrent and prospective donors, ensuring a high level of donorengagement and personalized stewardship. Understand donors'interests, values, and motivations to tailor fundraising approacheseffectively.
  • Portfolio Management: Provide oversightand management of an existing, robust funder partnership portfolio.Lead a team of highly skilled account managers responsible forindividuals, foundations and traditional corporate grants, events,employee volunteer engagements, and cause marketing.
  • Revenue Team Leadership: Providevisionary leadership and guidance to the revenue team, fostering acollaborative and results-driven culture to continue to scale upShare Our Strength. Set ambitious fundraising targets and monitorprogress toward achieving them.
  • Partnerships and Collaborations: Identifyand explore potential partnerships with corporations, foundations,and other non-profit organizations to advance Share Our Strength'smission and extend its reach.

Qualifications:

  • The ability to build trust with people from many backgroundsand to model an inclusive, welcoming culture.
  • An enthusiastic openness to creative thinking and innovativeapproaches.
  • Sophisticated and strategic analytical skills to assess andinvest in the greatest areas of opportunity.
  • A passionate and inspiring leadership style that engagesothers.
  • At least 15 years of experience leading revenue-generatingprograms, including programs with diverse revenue platforms.
  • Innovative leader with success in driving significant growth,identifying, and investing in innovative approaches, and leadingteams through growth and change.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

Revenue

  • Significant successful experience leading revenue generationoperations of at least $50M.
  • Demonstrated ability to design innovative approaches to revenuegeneration, and to build innovative partnerships andrevenue-generating initiatives.
  • Sophisticated understanding of the diversity of contemporaryrevenue-generating models across platforms, including directresponse, digital media, personal outreach, and events.
  • Understanding of, and experience with, the transformativepotential of digital commercial and social venues for contemporaryfundraising.

Donors

  • Significant success working with high-level and high-net-worthcorporate officials and individual donors.
  • Experience building long-term relationships with donors andcorporate partners.
  • Track record of securing six- and seven-figure major gifts andcorporate agreements.
  • Proven ability to identify and build innovativepartnerships.
  • Experience effectively leveraging the Board and ExecutiveTeam.

Leadership

  • Strong team management skills that foster collaboration, risktaking, experimentation, and accountability across teams tomaximize outcomes.
  • Experience leading large and complex organizations throughgrowth and change.
